Visions: Scholarship of Rogerian Nursing Science in Advances in Nursing Science

Leslie Nicoll, ANS Advisory Board member

On behalf of my colleagues Peggy Chinn (editor of Advances in Nursing Science), Dot Dunn (editor of Visions: Journal of Rogerian Nursing Science), Marlaine Smith (president of the Society of Rogerian Scholars), and Mercedes Simoncelli (publisher for ANS at Wolters Kluwer) I am excited to announce a unique collaboration between ANS and Visions. Beginning with the January-March 2023 issue (vol 46, no 1), Visions will be incorporated into ANS and will be known as Visions: Scholarship of Rogerian Nursing Science. The inaugural article in Visions is authored by W. Richard Cowling III, a well-known and highly respected Rogerian Scholar. There will be four Visions articles per year published in ANS (one per issue). Visions articles will be branded with a custom logo and identified on the table of contents. By virtue of this collaboration, Visions articles will be indexed in MEDLINE, Scopus, Ovid, and CINAHL. ANS currently has an impact factor of 2.147 and is a member of COPE, significant benefits that will also apply to the articles of Visions in ANS.

Interested scholars can submit articles to Visions at any time. Manuscripts submitted to Visions: Scholarship of Rogerian Nursing Science should be papers that contribute significantly to a perspective based on Martha E. Rogers’ Science of Unitary Human Beings. Research reports, concept analyses, reviews, and theoretical or philosophic discussion papers are welcome. All articles will be peer reviewed and adhere to standards of quality for ANS. Guidelines for ANS articles regarding style, presentation, length, formatting, references, tables, figures, supplemental digital content, originality, and permissions apply to articles submitted for Visions: Scholarship of Rogerian Nursing Science. Detailed guidelines for authors are at the ANS website. When submitting, there is an option in Editorial Manager to identify the article for consideration in Visions in ANS.
