The 2024-25 Nursology.net internship program is now underway! We announced this program in May 2024, and received over 20 applications! In addition to participating in the Advisory Team meetings, Interns will participate in learning sessions related to website management skills and participate in selected tasks involved in website management, including preparation and posting of their own blog posts. Danielle “Dani” Brochu
I am an assistant professor of nursing at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. I earned my DNP and MSN in nursing education at Sacred Heart University and a BSN from University of Saint Joseph. I enjoy writing and looking forward to integrating nursing theory and technology to further develop and disseminate nursing theory through the profession.
Faith Tissot

I graduated from Nassau Community College, Garden City, New York, and Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York, 2004 with a Dual Degree in BSN, MSN-Ed program. My clinical background in nursing includes various nursing specialties, such as medical-surgical nursing, Hemodialysis, PACU, and Surgical Intensive Care. I discovered my passion is cardiac critical care, which inspired me to earn my CCRN certification. I am pursuing a Doctorate in Philosophy of Nursing Science at the Nelda Stark School of Nursing at Texas Women’s University, Houston, Texas. Having a personal history within the foster care system, I plan to focus my research study on the incidence of inflammatory disease in adult survivors of childhood maltreatment.

I am participating as an Intern at Nursology to continue the journey of lifelong learning in Nursing through participation, listening, and responding professionally with humility, grace, brilliance and resilience.
Janet Attisha

My name is Janet Attisha and I teach in the associate degree nursing program at Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am also a second-year PhD student at the University of Kansas School of Nursing. The nurse-led blog posts published on Nursology.net inform and inspire me and I am excited to be part of the 2024-25 internship program. I look forward to working together in the spirit of learning and openness while we explore diverse points of view and perspectives within the nursing discipline.

Professionally, I am an assistant teaching professor and PhD student in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Personally, I have three young children and a wonderful husband who fill my heart with joy. I am so honoured to be a part of this experience!
Lindsay Colby

Excitement, joy, gratitude, honor, inspiration, connection, and commitment are some of the words that come to mind as I enter this experience as a new intern with Nursology. To date, Nursology has been pivotal in shaping my identity as a practicing nurse and ultimately inspiring me to become a future nurse scholar and educator. I am a second-year PhD student in the school of nursing at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. I am also delighted to be a Jonas Scholar as part of the 2024-2026 cohort. My research area of interest is health system transformation related to technological innovation in nursing practice. I am also an assistant nurse manager on a women’s health gynecology unit at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. As a Nursology intern, I am most looking forward to deepening my knowledge base through honoring the past, present and future, and having the opportunity to learn from a community of scholars who are committed to advancing nursing science worldwide.
Meghann Angelie Buyco

My name is Meghann Buyco and I am from British Columbia, Canada. I am currently taking my PhD in Nursing at Trinity Western University. Clinically, I work casually in an outpatient cancer centre and long-term care facility. In the last few years, I have been drawn to the research side of nursing and I have been involved in an international research with the Mothering and Albinism project as the Project Coordinator. My interest is in human rights, disabilities, health equity, and global health.
