Theme – Innovations in Research Using the Roy Adaptation Model

The Roy Adaptation Association–International (RAA-I) is pleased to announce its 2026 in-person conference, Innovations in Research Using the Roy Adaptation Model, hosted by the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, México. The event will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and Friday, June 12, 2026.
This conference will bring together scholars, clinicians, students, and leaders in adaptation-based practice to explore new developments in research grounded in the Roy Adaptation Model. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, engage with international colleagues, and share applications of the model across diverse settings.

Purposes of Conference
Conference Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- Explore innovations using the Roy Adaptation Model in nursing research, practice, and education.
- Identify strategies for developing nursing science and applying evidence to practice.
- Collaborate with Roy Scholars worldwide to address current and emerging issues in nursing.
- Nurture young scholars in developing and applying the Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) for nursing and nursology.
Conference Highlights
This will be our first international in-person conference since Panama (2014) and it promises to be an important opportunity to strengthen our network of chapters in Central & South America and the Caribbean. Many presentations will be given in Spanish with English translation available. The RAA-I Officers and Scholars look forward to vising this beautiful city and university to connect with colleagues.
Description of Conference program
Sister Callista Roy will present her welcome and future vision (virtual) and the Roy scholars will present workshops and award-winning research papers. Opportunities for networking and collaboration are encouraged.

Roy Adaptation Model Scholars Award
We encourage you to consider applying for the Roy Adaptation Model Scholars Award. This
new award recognizes scholarly contributions and engagement with the Roy
Adaptation Model.
Scholars Award Application Deadline: February 15, 2026
Submissions for both abstracts and award applications are accepted in Spanish or English and will be reviewed by a panel of Roy scholars using an anonymous process.
