Introducing Writer’s Camp

By Leslie H. Nicoll, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN
Camp Director, Writer’s Camp

Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to Writer’s Camp, a new online resource I’ve created that focuses on excellence in writing, editing, and publishing. It’s specifically designed for nursologists. I chose the “camp” metaphor because my own camp experiences were fun and educational, and that’s the spirit I want to bring to writing with Writer’s Camp.

Please take a moment to visit the site and explore. Here are some of the key elements that I am currently developing:

Beginning on Monday, May 19th, I will be serializing a book I wrote, MS: Manuscript Sucess: A Systematic Guide to Publishing in the Nursing Literature. I have used this book in writing retreats and workshops and participants have found it very helpful. Now it will be available at Writer’s Camp, one article per week, published on Mondays. Watch for them!

You can easily subscribe to Writer’s Camp using the form on the homepage – it’s completely free to join. If you have any questions or would like to get in touch, please use the “Contact Us!” postcard feature on the site. You can also use this postcard to let me know if you would be interested in being a Writer’s Camp Counselor or CIT. I am always on the lookout for eager authors.

I encourage you to bookmark the site and check back often. New content will be added all the time.

Thank you for your interest!

  1. Leslie,
What an exciting, refreshing and inspiring venture! Or adventure! Encouraging and timely.
    Best of luck,
    Mary Elaine Southard

  2. Thank you for taking the pressure and anxiety out of writing by infusing fun, imagination, and encouragement while learning. As a PhD student, writing for publication is intimidating. Creating a camp experience makes me excited to write, safety in making mistakes and learn through out the process. I am a very happy camper at Writer’s Camp.
